Being in Recruitment, thinking of W3Recruitment,

Knowing that Mobile is getting big, so a.o. Forrester Research tells us, we have to do something with it. And please don’t let us, being Recruiters, think things like, no it won’t happen or Mobile isn’t our cup of tea!

Visiting Mobile Monday in Amsterdam, MOMO, being a Recruiter… Means actually NOT that I am hunting for Mobile freaks who are able to apply the mobile technology and possibly could fullfill a job in some massive Telco company…. No.

I go there to see what kind of possibillities MOBILE could create for Recruitment.

What do you think, how is MOBILE going to be used in Recruitment.

Will it only be “just another channel to advertise our jobs” or….

You know the Mailboxrecruiters, only focussed on email from their suppliers: The smart cv salesmen that sell you LinkedIn Profiles or send you cv’s they got from old static databases.

Yep they are busy…

But by managing the Salesmen, they haven’t got time to check their other mail. The mail that comes from Highly Interested, Motived, Choosing for You, candidates. Hmm.

What to do with that…

>>> Get them more relevant cv’s
>>> Explain them how to make sure they get those relevant cv’s…

I will not tell you now what kind of campains etc, etc. to do to get the right attention.

I do think the “official, company site” is still a good “mailbox” but it should be able to take more than just the “email”.

The “mailmen” within the company should be able to work with all types of mail, whether it is just an URL of a blog, “LinkedIn” or “Twitter Profile” or an email with your CV attached. (I’m only thinking Online here)

The “mailmen” should be able to place the opening to the mailbox in the right neighbourhood.

What is the right neighbourhood? This neighbourhood is marked in their webstats.

Do you think so as well?

Simon Young replied to my posting last week: “If I were a potential hire, I’d want to apply through the application that suits me, whether it’s LinkedIn, Facebook or via email”

So at least someone shares this idea.

It took a while, like 35yrs, but I am glad my first slideshow is online :)
enjoy
If you have any questions or would like to discuss,

You know where to find me!

- During my quest in finding the right people for the right job, I meet a lot of interesting people. People who like networking as much as I do, real connectors and even people who want to share their tips and tricks. This is how I had cup of coffee with John Veitch in Christchurch, New Zealand, who is training people over there in how to benefit from eachothers network. This is also the reason why I went to Belgium to meet Octavio Pitaluga Neto. Octavio, inventor of the jobtitle Chief Network Officer, asked a few questions about this topic:

As a frequent visitor of congresses and speaker on seminars. I have to admit that CSN 08 has been better organized than CSN 07, but that is of course normal. You do something the first time, second time will be better.

But what is remarkable is the knowledge level of the visitors this year.

Last year there were discussions / questions about “Are we recruiters allowed”, “do candidates want to be recruited via Social Networks”

This year the questions from the audience were better like, “oke, how do we”, “where should we”

In the past 6 months, recruiters seem to have picked up the idea of “wow, that a lot of candidateknowledge out there on W3, lets use it!”

I like that.

That means, my Keynotes, Training, Masterclasses etc makes sense, so I will keep on doing that, don’t worry!
